Learn the basics of spoon carving while transforming basswood into your own hand carved wooden spoon. Participants will learn how to cut and shape their spoon blank, work safely with specialty carving knives, understand wood grain and cutting direction, and sand their finished spoon smooth. All tools, materials, and PPE are provided.
This is a free workshop at the Carhartt Workshop, 5800 Cass Ave. Participants must wear closed toe shoes to take part. RSVP is in person only and opens approximately 30 minutes to one hour before each workshop.
